I found this man and his pup during my Columbus, Ohio visit with Faithful Forgotten Best Friends (https://ffbf-columbus.org/) last Saturday. He was just one of over a 100 animals that received free canine medical care and supplies.
As we wander through our past and current relationships I think we all find it difficult to untangle the complexities of our own emotions, history, and personal frailties. We lose sight of the beauty of what we have within our reach - instead we thrash at meaningless things that soon disappear.
The man in my photo had found a source of comfort in a world where comfort is not so easily found. The puppy had found a place where his unconditional love would not only be accepted, but needed.
If only we look beneath the surface of our lives we might find the beauty that exists there.
